On December 21, 2012 the world ended. It is now known as Old Earth.
Eight years later, Matt, Will, and Art receive word from the thousands who've decided to stay behind known as the Bottom Dwellers.
Since Otar's plan to destory the human race and to take over the new terra-formed planet, now known as New Earth, the Otarians still seek minerals and resources.
When Matt, Will and Art learn that their fellow humans are in danger of becoming slaves for the Otarians they band together with former President Eric Thompson to create the Liberation Force to rescue those left behind on Old Earth.
